Sarasota, FL [November 17, 2017]— 1,800 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the ALSO Youth 8th Annual Turkey Trot 5K. This historically sold-out event takes place on November 23, 2017, Thanksgiving morning, at 7:30AM. The race starts at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota (1000 Boulevard of the Arts), crosses the John Ringling Causeway, and returns to the Hyatt for a post-race party including music, beer, and breakfast bites.
“The Turkey Trot has become a Thanksgiving tradition for nearly two thousand runners in Sarasota and from across the country,” says Nathan Bruemmer, Executive Director at ALSO Youth. “We are thrilled by the amount of community and corporate support that this event generates for ALSO Youth.”
The Turkey Trot will happen rain or shine, with parking in the Van Wezel and former G. Wiz parking lots. Run times are recorded by individual chip-timing devices, and every registered participant will receive a long-sleeved breathable tech shirt. Awards will be presented to the fastest overall male and female runners and the three fastest runners in fourteen different age groups. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. For registration and more information, please visit active.com at goo.gl/9Wg6VK.
