February 13th, 2017 New York, NY – Long-Island based ‘party prog’ band Time King have premiered the audio and visuals for their new single “Main Street” today! Fans can watch the video exclusively via New Noise Magazine here: goo.gl/ALoFpG. “Main Street” serves as the entrance to Time King’s forthcoming project The 1955 Collection. Starting with their upcoming EP, Frontierland, the album will be comprised of 4 separate EPs as well as interrelated singles to be released throughout the next year.
Filmed by Nico Moreno (UK Glamour, Italian Vanity Fair) “Main Street” evokes the colorful nostalgia of childhood – specifically the distinctive aura of Disneyland. “The song is about how attractive, even addictive, nostalgia can be,” the band told New Noise Magazine, “It’s about the process of coming across something or someone that ‘makes you feel like a kid again.'” Using projectors and home footage, as well as colors, textures and silhouettes, Time King created a “Fantasia-esque blurring of reality.” The track, showcasing the band’s signature blend of genres from jazz-fusion to classic prog rock, features production credits from Time King bassist James “Jimmy T” Meslin (Dream Theater, Kevin Devine) and mastering by Steve Fallone (The Strokes, TV On The Radio, Seal).
The five-piece, self-described as “modern rock-jazz. Music for your inner nerd and your inner party girl,” is preparing to release the Frontierland EP, the first installment of their forthcoming album The 1955 Collection. “‘Main Street’ is the literal and figurative opening or overture to the entire collection,” the band explains,  “[‘Main Street’] depicts standing at the ‘gates,’ glancing at what’s inside and making the conscious decision to step in and go along for the ride.” Frontierland, slated for release in May, is the first piece of The 1955 Collection. The full album will include 4 complete EPs as well as chosen singles released in the interim. The band remarked that, “The EPs are related to each other, but each explores an independent musical, visual and lyrical aesthetic.”
Founded by members Brandon Dove (guitar) and Shayne Plunkett (vocals/guitar), after meeting at a Berklee College of Music summer program, Time King has been actively carving a place for themselves in the prog rock scene. After months of virtual collaboration between Dove and Plunkett, through Skype, iMessage and any other means, in 2012 the band added vocalist Kalvin Rodriguez, bassist/producer James “Jimmy T” Meslin and drummer Matthew “Goose” Nazario to complete the Time King sound. While their initial releases landed them deals with NBC Universal and The USA Network, the band’s first official full-length release, 2015’s Suproe garnered praise from Huffington Post, Nerdist, Kill The Music and more.
“Main Street” is the latest release from Time King, following 2015’s Suproe album. The band is preparing for the release of the Frontierland EP, the first installment of their forthcoming full-length project, The 1955 Collection. The project, comprised of 4 EPs and featured singles, will be released throughout the next year.
