TAYMIR (pronounced tie-meer)–the four-piece tipped as ones-to-watch by MTV Iggy–are bringing their infectious, garage-rock back to the U.S. starting next week for TV appearances as well as performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco and at SXSW in Austin.
On Thursday, March 12 the Dutch group will pop by BALCONY TV to for a performance taping, next they’ll jump over to Hollywood for a special media and industry live performance at The Record Parlour–a unique vintage vinyl record and gear shop–(6408 Selma Ave) RSVP HERE. Friday, March 13 TAYMIR will hit the road up to San Francisco for a gig at Popscene with Wolf Alice. On Monday, March 16 before heading to Austin for SXSW, they’ll stop by Guitar Center in Hollywood to tape an episode of Guitar Center Sessions with host Nic Harcourt. Limited media spots are available for the taping. Both episodes of “Balcony TV” and “Guitar Center Sessions” will air in April.
TAYMIR will finish out the week in Austin, TX for their first-ever shows at the SXSW Music Festival including two performances at FLOODFest on Wednesday, March 18 alongside Spoon, Win Butler (Arcade Fire), Run The Jewels and more in the Cedar Street Courtyard as well as the Beautiful Buzz & Launch party at Brew Exchange. On Thursday, March 19, the group will perform their official SXSW showcase at the Planetary Group party at Maggie Mae’s Gibson Room. On Saturday, March 21 will the band will perform at Culture Collide alongside Palma Violets, The Vaccines and others at the Container Bar (see all shows below).

The fiery, young group, whose modern take on the 60’s rock sound is garnering comparisons ranging from Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand to The Who, released their acclaimed debut full-length PHOSPHENE in their homeland of The Netherlands in late 2013. DIV/UNDIV (Netherlands) described the 13-song set as “Unpolished, daring and fun.” In 2014, the group became a force in their home country and topped the Dutch airplay charts with their single “AAAAAH” while stepping out on the international stage after being invited to open the prestigious London Calling Festival at Paradiso in Amsterdam as the only Dutch band on the bill.
