MIAMI – May 25, 2016 – Regional Mexican music star Roberto Tapia, returns to TELEMUNDO’s “La Voz Kids” as a celebrity guest mentor during the highly anticipated “Battle Rounds” phase that kicks-off this Sunday, May 29 at 8pm/7c. After serving as a Coach in seasons one and two, Tapia will join Daddy Yankee, Natalia Jimenez and Pedro Fernandez in this challenging, intense and emotional phase where contestants battle it out at Universal Orlando Resort. This first Battle episode will also feature a special musical performance by co-host Patricia Manterola singing her new single “Alalaleo,” and co-host Jorge Bernal will have an on-stage surprise for viewers.

Roberto Tapia is one of the most popular and distinguished Latin music stars in the Regional Mexican music genre, who also served as a Coach during the first and second season of “La Voz Kids.” His most recent single “Vale La Pena,” is currently available in digital formats. Born in San Diego, California but raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Tapia has become a well-known singer whose songs also have become theme songs for TELEMUNDO’s original productions like “El Señor de los Cielos.” He earned his first No.1 on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart in August 2012 with his 11th album, El Muchacho, which was also No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart.

TELEMUNDO’s Sunday night reality show “La Voz Kids” gives viewers the opportunity to witness how the stars of the future are discovered and developed by featuring three stages of the singing competition, including the Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, and the Final Phase. During the Blind Auditions, the Coaches decisions are based solely on voice and not on looks. Once the teams are set, the Battle Rounds begin, and the Coaches will dedicate themselves to developing their teams. New this season, the Battles Rounds will include a ‘Wild Card’ component, where the audience will have the opportunity to save one of their favorite contestants per each Coach’s team. The winners of the ‘Wild Card’ will be revealed in the first Gala of the Final Phase. During the Final Phase of the competition, the television audience will continue to vote, and along with the Coaches, decide who will stay in the competition and who will go home. In the end, only one kid is selected by the viewing audience as the winner of “La Voz Kids,” receiving a recording contract with Universal Music and grand prize of $50,000. The winner’s family will also be awarded a 2016 Nissan Rogue.
