Fine Arts Society of Sarasota Announces 2019-2020 Board of Directors Officers and Newly Established President’s Advisory Board 

SARASOTA, FL – The Fine Arts Society of Sarasota is pleased to announce the election of the 2019-2020 board of directors officers. On May 1, Donna Maytham takes over as president; Tonya Eubank, vice president; Sarah Skeeba, recording secretary; Barbara Sander, corresponding secretary; and Mary Ellen McMahon, treasurer. Martha Ballard, Jerry Chesley, and immediate past president Vern Weitz have been named ex officio members of the executive committee.

The Fine Arts Society of Sarasota also recently organized a president’s advisory board, which was created to discuss how the Fine Arts Society is perceived in the community, elicit feedback from outside the membership, and heighten awareness of the Society’s contribution to the community. Members of the advisory board include Leslie Butterfield of Public Art, Miriam Wallace of New College, Kristina Keogh of Ringling College, Andrea Knies of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota, Marjorie Floyd of Strategic Marketing, and Michael C. Marriccini of At Large, Inc.

The Fine Arts Society of Sarasota was founded in 1969 with the mission of supporting and stimulating the arts in Sarasota County. The organization has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to local students, and nearly $150,000 in grants to local arts organizations, schools, and children’s programs. All monies awarded are generated through the Society’s activities.
