The Care2 petition demands the venue in Tampa and other cities cancel O’Reilly’s tour amid sexual harassment allegations against him

Yesterday 21st Century Fox announced that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel. Following April 1st revelations that settlements totalling $13 million have been shelled out to five women who claim the television host sexually harassed or verbally abused them, a Care2 petition is urging five venues to cancel Bill O’Reilly’s upcoming “The Spin Stops Here” tour. The Care2 petition has gathered over 18,000 signatures.

The Care2 petition asks the following venues to cancel O’Reilly’s upcoming appearances:

  • Honda Center – Anaheim, CA
  • The Colosseum at Caesars Palace – Las Vegas, NV
  • Amalie Arena – Tampa, FL
  • Royal Farms Arena – Baltimore, MD
  • NYCB Theatre at Westbury – Westbury, NY

O’Reilly, now the former host of Fox’s The O’Reilly Factor, launches his tour in Westbury, NY, where two shows are already sold out, on June 17.

On April 1, a New York Times investigation revealed five women have received payouts totalling $13 million from either O’Reilly himself or 21st Century Fox, Fox News’ parent company, in exchange for agreeing not to take legal action or speak about their harassment accusations against O’Reilly.

The women allege O’Reilly engaged in a variety of lewd and intimidating behaviors targeted at them, including verbal abuse, sexual comments, unwanted advances and phone calls in which it sounded as if O’Reilly was masturbating, the Times revealed.

A separate Care2 petition was successful in convincing Jenny Craig to pull its ads from The O’Reilly Factor after gathering over 30,000 signatures. Jenny Craig is one of at least 56 companies that have pulled their ads from the showamid the allegations, including Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, BMW of North America, Bayer, and Allstate.

In 2015, a similar Care2 petition urged the cancellation of comedian Bill Cosby’s tour after more than 50 women came forward with allegations he had drugged and raped them. Care2 held a peaceful protest outside of his May 2, 2015 show in Atlanta. Care2 was joined by Cosby accusers, their families, and famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing some of the survivors.
