ABOUT UCLA HEALTH AUTISM TREATMENT PROGRAM

Today, one in every 68 children has an autism spectrum disorder.  It is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the U.S. The UCLA Autism Treatment Program is at the forefront of research and new treatments for autism, but too few practicing community clinicians are up-to-date. With these funds, UCLA experts will establish state-of-the-art free programs for community teachers and professionals to better impact the growing population of families with children on the autism spectrum.

ABOUT TEEN CANCER AMERICA

Every hour in America another 13-25 year-old is diagnosed with cancer. TEEN CANCER AMERICA is transforming their lives by building specialized in-patient and out-patient “teen zones” in our country’s leading cancer treatment and research centers. With your support, these “teen zones” will soon be serving thousands of impacted young people and their families across the country – improving treatment, outcomes and survival rates.  www.teencanceramerica.org

ABOUT WHOCARES

WhoCares is part of an event series that began in 2006 to raise money for UCLA’s Autism Treatment Program and the treatment of teens and young adults battling cancer. These private events have raised over $6 million, with event expenses totaling less than 10 percent of funds raised. Donated dollars aided in the expansion of access to autism treatment services for children and families coping with an ASD diagnosis, as well as funding the first U.S. specialized teen cancer unit at UCLA and now, the launch of these units across the U.S. through the work of Teen Cancer America.

ABOUT THE WHO

THE WHO have sold over 100 million records since forming in 1964; they brought together four different personalities and in effect produced a musical hurricane.  Each of them was a pioneer. Wildman drummer Keith Moon beat his kit with a chaotic elegance; stoic bassist John Entwistle held down the center with the melodic virtuosity of a solo guitarist; raging intellectual Pete Townshend punctuated the epic universality of his songs with the windmill slamming of his fingers across his guitar strings; and Roger Daltrey roared above it all with an impossibly virile macho swagger. They exploded conventional rhythm and blues structures, challenged pop music conventions, and redefined what was possible on stage, in the recording studio, and on vinyl.
