Chicago, IL – October 20th, 2015 – Chicago’s own Walsher Clemons has teamed up with Infectious Magazine to exclusively premiere their new video for “So Funny” today! “So Funny” originally released off of the band’s new album Dancing & Praying on September 1st. Mixing the funk elements of Michael Jackson, with jam-heavy instrumentation of Phish, Walsher Clemons has created a unique style of their own. Over a year in the making, Walsher Clemons’ debut album Dancing & Praying was produced with the help of Colin Peterik, son of the legendary Jim Peterik of Survivor. The album tells a story of suburban visionaries chasing their dream while documenting the joys and struggles encountered on their never-ending journey to avoid the mundane pitfalls of a 9 to 5 lifestyle.
Walsher Clemons was born in 2008 by classmates Frank Minella (guitar, vocals), Patrick Walsh (guitar), and Michael Campo (drums). After winning several Battle of the Bands competitions, the band took a short hiatus to attend college. Over a year of silence had passed before destiny steered the three founding members back home to Chicago, where they were able to add bassist Craig Urban, pianist Alif Muhammad, and vocalist Riley Pettrone to bolster the lineup. Their sound was more powerful than ever before, featuring soaring vocals, intricate keyboard layering, two lead guitarists with distinct sounds that eloquently complimented each other, booming funky bass and persistent drum groove. The band has since played hundreds of live shows throughout the U.S., bringing their unique sound to over a dozen states.
The band is making big waves in the Chicago music scene, with frequent performances at premiere venues such as House of Blues, Metro, Reggie’s, and Double Door. They have opened for classic rock legends .38 Special and The Ides of March, and have been featured on ABC 7’s Windy City Live.
