Venice Theatre seeks singers, dancers and actors for SILVER FOXES senior performance troupe

(Venice, FL) Brad Wages, Artistic Director of Venice Theatre’s Silver Foxes, invites performers age 50 and older to join in the fun and audition for the group. The Foxes bring variety shows to venues throughout the area from November to April.  In March they present their annual show on the theatre’s MainStage for five performances. Commitment for members includes two to three rehearsals weekly; roadshows throughout the season as booked; and the MainStage performances from March 18- 22, 2015.

Auditions will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. at the theatre. Singers should prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song and provide sheet music for the accompanist; no tapes or CDs should be used. The Silver Foxes new Musical Director, Peter Madpak, will conduct the singing auditions with Wages.

Dancers should bring tap shoes and have familiarity with basic tap steps. Choreographer Maria Santagada will teach a short combination which the dancers will then perform for Wages. Actors will be asked to read a short selection from a script.

All Silver Foxes auditions, meetings, and rehearsals will take place at the theatre located at 140 W. Tampa Ave., on the island of Venice in the second floor Studio Rehearsal Room. For further information about auditions or to learn how to get involved with the Foxes behind the scenes, please call Venice Theatre’s Education and Outreach Department at 941-486-8679.
