A documentary celebrating the music of New Orleans, Up From The Streets (also produced by Robin Burgess and Cilista Eberle) chronicles the deep historic roots and social context that made this city a cultural capital. The film blends conversations with New Orleans-based figures Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick, Jr., Mannie Fresh, and Dr. Michael White with commentary from Robert Plant, Keith Richards, Bonnie Raitt, and Sting. These stories are soundtracked by new and archival performance footage of Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, truly bringing the sensational story of New Orleans’ music to life.
