Cabaret 313 Presents LaChanze
Cabaret 313 presents Tony Award-winning actress LaChanze in Feeling Good, the performer’s multi-genre onstage memoir that gives audiences an intimate glimpse into the highs and lows of her life so far, including the joy of giving birth to two daughters and winning Broadway’s coveted Tony Award for her leading role in “The Color Purple,” as well as the devastation of losing her husband in the 9/11 attacks. Preceding her appearance with Cabaret 313, LaChanze will visit Mosaic Youth Theatre for a master class with some of Detroit’s most talented young performers.

LaChanze is a Tony Award-winning actress with a long list of theater credits including The Color Purple (Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical), Once On This IslandRagtimeCompanyUptown…It’s Hot! and If/Then. Her Off-Broadway credits include The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin (Drama Desk nomination), Dessa Rose (Obie Award), Inked BabySpunk and From the Mississippi Delta.
Marco Paguia, piano & music director
Paguia has played a number of roles in various productions including conductor, pianist and musical director in the Broadway run of Everyday Rapture, associate conductor and keyboardist in the Broadway run of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and musical director and supervisor for both Broadway and touring productions of Peter and the Starcatcher.
