Aspiring Musical Theater Artists in Los Angeles

(Beverly Hills, CA June 15) The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and the Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) are thrilled to announce the talented musical theater faculty lineup comprised of Broadway performers, directors and casting directors for the 2016 GENERAT10N Summer Intensive, being held June 19 – 26 at The Wallis in Beverly Hills.

Faculty members include star of stage and screen Taye Diggs (“Private Practice,” Rent, Hedwig and the Angry Inch); Olivier Award-nominated director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Carrie); Broadway Dreams Foundation Education Director Craig D’Amico (Fiddler on the Roof!, Annie Get Your Gun); actress Jenny Parsinen Bergold (Allegiance); Tesley + Company casting director Rachel Hoffman; Broadway musician and vocal coach Craig Johnson; actress Alexis Carra (“Mixology”); actor Alex Newell (“Glee”); actress Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring It On: The Musical) and cast members of the touring production of Beautiful  – The Carole King Musical.

The annual weeklong summer intensive—that invites future stars of the stage to embark on a rigorous week of Broadway-caliber training—will culminate in a public performance, the Dreamer’s Ball, which brings students and their mentors together on the stage of the Bram Goldsmith Theater on Saturday, June 25 at 7:30pm. Broadway director Stafford Arima invites audiences to a special night where magic, joy, heartache, humor and dreams come alive on the stage. The students of the Broadway Dreams Los Angeles workshop will be joined by guest faculty Jenny Parsinen Bergold, Alexis Carra, Craig D’Amico, Taye Diggs, Alex Newell and Ryann Redmond. Tickets are now on sale at TheWallis.org.

“Support for young artists is essential to our education mission at GRoW @ The Wallis,” said Mark Slavkin, Director of Education at The Wallis. “We are honored to join with Broadway Dreams to host this exceptional program.”

“This year, as the Broadway Dreams Foundation celebrates its 10th year of programming, we will shatter all expectations and make dreams come true in a record number of cities and countries,” said Broadway Dreams Foundation Executive Director Annette Tanner. “We recently participated in a historic collaboration with the U.S. Embassy, Stage Entertainment and Broadway Moscow to offer a first-of-its-kind Broadway intensive in Moscow. Next week, we will offer our unique brand of programming to 70 aspiring performers in Brazil, and later this month, we will embark on an eight-city summer tour before traveling to Toronto for the second consecutive year. In addition, we’re proud to announce that we have now landed roles for more than 100 BDF students in Broadway shows or National Tours. If there is anyone who hasn’t heard of BDF yet, I guarantee they will if they are serious about this business.”

Single tickets for the GENERAT10N Dreamer’s Ball  public performance are now available for $25 and $45.
