The Royal Opera presents Meet the Young Artists Week, a series of events in the Linbury Studio Theatre that give audiences a chance to meet the new intake of Jette Parker Young Artists and hear them perform alongside those continuing for their second Season.

The Jette Parker Young Artists Programme brings together talented singers, conductors and directors from around the world early in their careers. It is designed to support their artistic development over a two-year period, during which time they are immersed in the life of the Royal Opera House, form their own artistic identities and receive guidance on their future operatic careers.

The week’s activities include a diverse programme of free recitals, a workshop, a chance to meet the Young Artists in person and a new production of Peter Maxwell Davies’s The Lighthouse directed by Jette Parker Associate Director, Greg Eldridge. These exciting opportunities to hear the new and second-year participants of the Programme culminate in The Juke Box, where an evening’s recital programme will be chosen by the audience from works presented at a lunchtime session.

OPERA RECITAL: 19 October at 1pm; all ten Jette Parker Young Artist singers accompanied by Jette Parker Young Artist pianist Colin J. Scott and by David Gowland.
LIEDER RECITAL: 22 October at 1pm: tenor David Junghoon Kim and bass James Platt, accompanied by pianist David Gowland.
WORKSHOP: 23 October at 1pm: Richard Gerard Jones works on a duet from Pagliacci with soprano Vlada Borovko and baritone Samuel Dale Johnson.
JUKE BOX: 25 October at 1pm and 7pm: all ten Jette Parker Young Artist singers accompanied by Jette Parker Young Artist pianist Colin J. Scott and by David Gowland.
THE LIGHTHOUSE (a new production of the opera by Peter Maxwell Davies): 22 and 23 October at 7pm and 24 October at 1pm
As a part of Meet the Young Artists Week a photographic exhibition by Scandinavian photographer Signe Roderik will be installed in the Linbury Studio Theatre showcasing the Jette Parker Young Artists in rehearsal.
