With the final preparations being put in place for the debut of THE HUDSON PROJECT, set times and additional details are being announced to prepare festival-goers for this weekend’s (July 11, 12 and 13) inaugural event at Winston Farm in Saugerties, New York.  In planning THE HUDSON PROJECT, festival organizers set out to develop a sense of community for everyone who will be spending time at The Farm.

Beyond music, onsite art installations that amplify the natural beauty of the land are being positioned throughout the festival site.  A series of free workshops are also being offered to enrich both the body and spirit which will further reinforce the village that’s being created at Winston Farm for THE HUDSON PROJECT.  Lastly, the festival’s website will offer useful hints and suggestions to simplify the process for all those attending.

Musically, THE HUDSON PROJECT will offer concert-goers the ultimate fusion of more than 85 genre-defying musical acts performing on five stages, all set against the backdrop of the magical Catskill Mountains, including one stage dedicated exclusively to supporting the music of the New York-area.

The full 2014 schedule (as of 7/8) is as follows:

On the art front, additional details can now be revealed about the onsite installations.  THE HUDSON PROJECT’s art director Greg Mike is overseeing a team of world-class national and local contemporary artists in creating the festival’s onsite art component.  These include live painting throughout the event, while other artists will create site specific installations which will utilize the venue’s natural elements and amplifying the natural beauty of the land.  Some highlights include:  The Arrowhead, a 3-faced chandelier wrapped with colorful and evolving visuals that respond to the music; Anagraham Pavilion, a landscape folly exploring the space between sculpture, architecture and identity; ABV Gallery’s newest live art installation, The Artagon will debut a six-sided, multi-functional art structure provides an outdoor live art gallery and a shaded hangout area for attendees; Ze’ev Willy Neumann’s “Tubular” (“tub be or not tub be”), the artist creates voluminous Styrofoam sculptures with large geometrical lines that have an almost child like simplicity and don’t weigh a great deal.  Full details on all THE HUDSON PROJECT’s art can be found here:  http://hudsonmusicproject.com/experience/art-installations/

Concert-goers looking for something a little different can participate in a variety of free workshops mid-day before the festival grounds open.  All classes are beginner to intermediate levels.  Sessions include: Yoga, Chi Gong, Hooping, and Kung Fu with USA Shaolin Temple.  To view a full list of onsite sessions, please visit: http://hudsonmusicproject.com/experience/workshops/
