The Great Colorado Symphony Sweepstakes

Early Bird Drawing for $5,000 on February 15

Year’s second largest fundraiser for community supported Colorado Symphony

This Valentine’s Day, love is in the air – and so is money.

The 2013/14 Colorado Symphony Sweepstakes is underway, with a grand prize package that includes a 2014 Mercedes E350 Convertible with all taxes paid, free parking at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, and tickets to the Colorado Symphony’s complete 2014/15 season.

Those who purchase tickets before February 14 will be entered to win a special early bird prize of $5,000 cash. The early bird drawing will take place on stage during the February 15 Masterworks performance Love & Lust with conductor Mark Wigglesworth and violinst Midori, who will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concert in E minor.

Tickets are $50 and include one $20 voucher for an upcoming CSO performance at Boettcher Concert Hall in the 2013/14 or 2014/15 season. The grand-prize drawing will take place May 30, 2014 at the Inside the Score performance From Stravinsky to Vai.

Tickets are available at the Boettcher Concert Hall box office, located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The box office is open from 10 am-6 pm Monday-Friday, noon-6 pm Saturday -Sunday, and two hours before each performance. Tickets are also available online. Visit www.greatsymphonysweepstakes.com/ for complete details.

The CSO’s second largest fundraiser of the year, the Great Symphony Sweepstakes supports the music and musicians of the Colorado Symphony. Last year’s raffle generated $182,000. This year’s goal is to generate $500,000, which will directly support Colorado Symphony musicians and programming.

“This raffle is critical to the Colorado Symphony, as it allows us to close the fiscal year on a high note,” says Jerry Kern, Colorado Symphony CEO and co-chair of its Board of Trustees. “It’s really a grassroots effort, and everyone is doing their part, including our musicians, Board of Trustees, staff, Guild and Chorus. Now we’re asking the community we serve to do its part, by purchasing tickets and spreading the word. It’s a great way to support the symphony — and maybe win a car and some cash.”

One of the finest, most innovative orchestras in the United States, the Colorado Symphony is also one of the busiest, annually performing more than 150 concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall and other venues across Colorado, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Under the artistic leadership of Music Director Andrew Litton, the Colorado Symphony employs more than eighty full-time professional musicians who live and work in metro Denver – and who represent the height of excellence and achievement in music.
