The #1 independent rapper in the world TECH N9NE will be hitting the road next week on his “Independent Grind Tour 2014” and will be coming through Tampa on Tuesday, April 15 performing at The Ritz YBOR. Joining the rap mogul on the mammoth trek will be fellow Strange Music artist Krizz Kaliko, Freddie Gibbs, Jarren Benton, and Psych Ward Druggies.

The “Independent Grind Tour 2014” follows Tech N9ne’s “Something Else Tour 2013,” which had the rap mogul performing across the US as well as Canada promoting his 13th studio album, the critically acclaimed Something Else. Tech N9ne had the biggest year of his career in 2013, including two Billboard Magazine features and currently garnering heavy radio play for his hit song “Fragile,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, ¡Mayday! and Kendall Morgan. The “Independent Grind Tour 2014” tour stops in over 70 cities, kicking off on April 9 in Springfield, MO and, following tradition, wraps up in Tech’s hometown of Kansas City on June 28. Mid-tour, be sure to look out for the Strange Music collaboration album, Strangeulation, which features Tech N9ne along with the rest of his roster of supreme MC’s and is slated for release on May 26. Though Tech is bringing three non-Strange Music acts on the outing, none are strangers to the independent grind. Freddie Gibbs just dropped his collaborative album with producer Madlib Piñata on March 18, which has already received very positive reviews. Jarren Benton is one of indie label Funk Volume’s premier acts, and displayed that talent when he hit number 152 on the Billboard 200 last summer with his album My Grandma’s Basement. Psych Ward Druggies, a budding hip hop group out of Southern California, is proving their hustle by performing pop up shows when they’ve been denied a booking. They also recently collaborated with The Game, E-40 and Tech N9ne on their club banger “Pop It For A Player.”

Don’t miss the Independent Grind Tour 2014, it’s going to be incredible!

Tech N9ne’s “Independent Grind Tour 2014” Hitting More Than 70 Cities

The Strange Music Artist Will Be Joined On The Tour By Freddie Gibbs, Krizz Kaliko, Jarren Benton and Psych Ward Druggies

January 30, 2014

(Los Angeles, CA) Tech N9ne’s “Independent Grind Tour 2014” is slated to hit more than 70 cities in the United States beginning in April. The three-month tour will feature fellow Midwest gangster rap torchbearer Freddie Gibbs, Strange Music labelmate Krizz Kaliko, rising Funk Volume act Jarren Benton and the buzzing rap group Psych Ward Druggies.

The “Independent Grind Tour 2014” is scheduled to launch April 9 in Tech N9ne’s home state of Missouri with a performance in Springfield. Later in the month, the tour will hit several cities in the South (Atlanta April 19 and Norfolk April 24, among them) before returning to the Midwest (Cleveland April 30 and Chicago May 6). Later in May, Tech N9ne will trek to the West Coast (Seattle May 23-24) and will wrap the tour at the end of June with two shows in Missouri (Columbia June 27 and Kansas City June 28).

Last year, Tech N9ne headlined the “Something Else Tour 2013” in both the United States and Canada. Those outings were named after Tech N9ne’s 2013 album, Something Else, which is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of Tech N9ne’s career. “Big and bold the whole way through and with nary a stumble, Something Else is another triumph from Tech,” is how AllMusic.com described the project in its review, which netted four out of five stars.
