SILICON VALLEY’S T.J. MILLER SET TO HOST 16th ANNUAL GOLDEN TRAILER AWARDS

(Beverly Hills, CA, April 28, 2015) — Known for his stand up comedy and his break-out role on the hit HBO television series “Silicon Valley,” T.J. Miller, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the 16th Annual Golden Trailer Awards, it was announced today by Evelyn Watters, Golden Trailer Awards Executive Director, along with the show’s executive producer Monica Brady.

The Golden Trailer Awards honor and celebrate the work of film and television marketers and the advertising agencies and companies that create movie trailers, posters and commercials. The awards ceremony will be presented live on stage on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, with pre-party festivities beginning at 7 pm at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. The show begins at 8 pm.

The Golden Trailer Awards are presented to nominees in diverse categories that range from serious to lighthearted, including Summer Blockbuster 2015, Trashiest Trailer, Most Romantic Trailer, Best of Show, and one of the most popular awards of the night: the Golden Fleece Award, bestowed on the best trailer for the film where the marketing was considered better than the film itself.

“The Golden Trailer Awards recognize excellence in entertainment marketing and these trophies have become very coveted within the creative and studio communities,” said executive director Evelyn Watters, adding, “the show itself has a lot of energy and is a lot of fun. It is one of the best parties and networking events of the year for those in the movie business.”

In addition to Miller serving as show host, celebrity and industry judges participating in this year’s ceremony include David Benioff, co-creator and executive producer of “Game of Thrones,” filmmaker Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World), actor, director, producer Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal”), director Brian Percival (“Downtown Abbey”), Academy Award® winning production designer Anna Pinnock (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Academy Award® winning sound

ABOUT T.J. MILLER:

Miller got his start touring with Second City in Chicago, and doing improv at venues such as The Annoyance Theater and iO Chicago. Since then his profile has skyrocketed, and he’s become one of the most in-demand comedians in the business, being named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” and one of the “Next Big Things in Comedy” by Entertainment Weekly.

He has lent his vocal talents to the character Tuffnut in both How to Train Your Dragon movies and the Netflix TV series, “Robbie V.” and, most recently, he was the comic book-loving superhero Fred in Disney’s Big Hero 6.

He’s also been in several major studio films, most notably Cloverfield, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, She’s Out of My League, and Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

And of course, he plays Erlich Bachman on Mike Judge’s HBO comedy series “Silicon Valley.” Miller’s Erlich is the quintessential tech bro, who’s made enough money flipping his startup to launch an incubator for other budding startups.

He has been performing his absurdist observational stand-up act for over 10 years. His hour-long Comedy Central special “T.J. Miller: No Real Reason” and hip-hop/pop/folk music album “The Extended Play E.P.,” an EP with 41 tracks, are available now.

He studied Classical Acting at B.A.D.A in Oxford, England and circus arts at Frichess Theatre Urbain.
