| ROCK DUO DECODED RELEASE “TOPANGA” DELUXE EDITION EP |
| Los Angeles, CA – July 14, 2015 – Los Angeles rock duo Decoded have released the deluxe edition of their EP “Topanga.” The new release includes a previously unreleased track and a new mix of the single “Topanga” by renowned engineer Mark Needham. To celebrate its release, Decoded is giving fans a chance to stream the EP in full exclusively on Artist Direct. Fans can pick up their own copy of the EP on iTunes.
“The whole Topanga EP Deluxe Edition, with the exception of the song “Judgement Day”, is about love,” singer Derek Jordan explained. “Either the longing for it, which is most prevalent, or the short-lived flings that distract you from it. I always had a crush on Topanga from Boy Meets World. The girl was beautiful, and even more so now in real life, but it was the “girl next door” personality and love story that really got to me. I wanted that. I still want that. I go through life wondering when things will come together, when will the stars align, for me, for you. When I wrote the songs on the “Topanga EP”, I didn’t really feel the need for love at the time. I thought I was too focused and busy to commit to it. But the songs have a deeper meaning now, they kind of foretold that I’d be wanting nothing more than love today. In the song “Not Easy Being Alone”, I sing about if you love yourself then everything will be okay. Well it definitely hasn’t been easy and I think you can only love yourself so much. Life is meant to be shared. There’s a big void left when you can’t fulfill that meaning.”
Decoded was conceived in Los Angeles in 2012 & is comprised of Derek Jordan (Vocals and Guitar) and Heather Miller (Drums). With pop arrangements, catchy hooks and added elements of grunge, blues, classic rock, lounge, Native American influenced rhythms and melodies, the band not only grabs your attention with songs but has also been able to create their own sonic niche in the flooded landscape of sub-genres.
