RISE AGAINST RETURN FOR SECOND LEG

OF NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR

Rise Against are currently on a headlining North American tour culminating in Denver on August 16, and have just announced the second leg to kick off November. This run is in support of their seventh studio album The Black Market. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 31.

Rise Against released their seventh studio album The Black Market in 2014 which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and landed at #1 on the iTunes Alternative Album Chart. The album also debuted at #1 in Germany, Australia and Canada where it has already achieved gold status.

“There’s a lot of raw emotion on this record,” reveals Rise Against singer and guitarist Tim McIlrath. “I underestimated just what a Rise Against song is, what the lyrics are and how they can sometimes take you to a dark place,” he continues. “I used to go into songs and walk away virtually unscathed. When I was creating this record I was having a hard time walking away from it – I was wallowing in the sadness and the angst of the songs.”

After 16 years and six incendiary albums, Rise Against has become one of the most successful, challenging and revered punk rock bands on the planet. “Rise Against are one band holding firm in the belief that it’s important for punk to stand for something real, and they’ve carried the torch for thoughtful, socially conscious punk rock for more than a decade,” declared Consequence of Sound.

Rise Against have sold six million albums globally across their catalog – with 2011’sEndgamedebuting at No. 1 in Germany and Canada, and No. 2 on the U.S.Billboard album chart.
