The Portrait and Figure Painters Society of SW Florida has issued a call to artists for a new exhibition that it has titled Prominent People. The show is being sponsored by PFPS in conjunction with The Friends of the Cape Coral Library and will be exhibited in March of 2015. Artists are welcome to create new work or exhibit paintings of prominent people from past shows, such as the PFPS’ 2012 show in former Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall’s office, the Faces of Floridians show in October of 2012 and the 125th Anniversary of Lee County show in November of 2012.

The Portrait and Figure Painters Society is also seeking artists for its American Native Indian exhibition. No decision has been made yet on an exhibition sponsor or location, but artists will be welcome to exhibit paintings from past shows such as last November’s cancelled exhibition at former Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall’s office.

The Portrait and Figure Painters Society of SW Florida fosters, enhances and upgrades aesthetics, culture, and technical knowledge of fine art portraiture and figurative work by instilling individuals with feelings of self-worth, positive attitudes, new possibilities, and help coping with change and caring. “We like to support this with scholarship programs for deserving and talented aspiring artists, affordable training and study opportunities assisted or provided by this organization,” notes founder and president Renate Reuter. “We try to build bridges between communities, generations, and nationalities.” Also known as PFPS, the Society was created the Society in October of 2007 to contribute to the community at large through educational programs and studies for students, aspiring and professional fine artists and the general public.
