Remember the Crucifixion

PALM SUNDAY SERVICES, April 13 at 9:00 & 11:00 AM in the Roser Community Church Sanctuary
The service will begin with a Palm Processional by the Children and Choir. There will be special music by the Chancel Choir, Joyful Noise Children’s Choir and the Handbell Choir at both services.  The Roser Ringers will ring March by Purcell to lead off the service.  The Chancel Choir, Joyful Noise Choir and the Handbells together will present the Anthem, Let the King Come In! composed by Larson. During the 9:00 AM Service, children will be dismissed after the Children’s Message for their own special program. Nurseries are available during both services. Everyone will receive a palm cross as they leave!  The crosses are hand-woven by villagers near Masasi, Tanzania. They are made from dried leaves of the dwarf palm, and last a lifetime. Father Talbot, an Anglican priest observed the poverty of the people and sought ways for them to increase their income. He encouraged the villagers to begin weaving palm crosses to sell to churches for use on Palm Sunday. Net proceeds from the sale of crosses are used to help meet basic human needs such as clean drinking water, HIV/AIDS education, fighting hunger, and farming ventures. Since its inception, African Palms USA has awarded over $1.9 million to African communities. For more information about the crosses please go to http://www.africanpalmsusa.org/.

Refreshments will be served following each service.

CELEBRATE the Resurrection

EASTER SUNDAY SERVICES, April 20 at 9:00 & 11:00 AM in the Roser Community Church Sanctuary
Bring a flower to place on the Cross! As worshippers arrive they are invited to place a flower in the chicken wire of the old rugged cross there by transforming it into a beautiful cross covered with flowers. The live flowers are a symbol of rebirth and resurrection. Families are invited to take this opportunity to bring a camera and have a photograph taken in front of the cross after the service when it is covered in flowers. The Chancel Choir will sing Christ the Lord is Risen composed by Stopford, at both services! During the 9:00 AM Service, children will be dismissed after the Children’s Message for their own special program. Nurseries are available during both services.

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power. Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV)
