MAYOR ERIC GARCETTI CONGRATULATES CA/LA EMMY WINNERS

Mayor Eric Garcetti today congratulated California and Los Angeles-based productions that won Emmys last night.

“These winners confirm we are the entertainment capital of the world, but we can’t take that for granted. Other states and countries are luring away our entertainment industry and the middle class jobs it supports with powerful financial incentives and it’s imperative we fight back.”

The state legislature is currently debating a responsible increase in California’s film tax credit. Mayor Eric Garcetti has made protecting and expanding our entertainment industry a centerpiece of his administration because it is critical to the strength of our middle class. He has helped lead a statewide coalition of policymakers and business leaders to push for entertainment legislation and created the first-ever Mayor’s Office of Motion Picture and Television Production.
