DEBUT EP OUT FEBRUARY 2017 ON CAPITOL RECORDS
Streams Of Debut Single “Alaska” Exceed 21 Million World Wide
November 3rd, 2016 – (Hollywood, CA) – Maggie Rogers releases her evocative and exuberant new song “Dog Years” today, listen HERE. The 22 year old artist-producer-songwriter will release her debut EP in February 2017 on Capitol Records. Says Rogers,
“Dog Years is about a day I skipped class to stay in bed and make frozen pizza with
a boy I loved.
Dog Years is about dance parties in the kitchen.
Dog Years is about chocolate milk and the Tompkins Square dog park.
Dog Years is about a thank you note.
Dog Years is about change, about loving and leaving and still loving, about trusting yourself, about trusting the universe, about being a good friend and never having enough time.”
Rogers debut single, “Alaska,” has surpassed 21 million combined global streams. Views of the accompanying video, directed by filmmaker Zia Anger, have already exceeded one million in the first two weeks.  Watch “Alaska” HERE and get a behind-the-scenes look at Rogers’ first video shoot HERE.
It was an unfinished version of “Alaska” that introduced Rogers to an unexpectedly wide audience earlier this year. While working on her music at The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Rogers attended a Masterclass taught by Pharrell Williams and played an early version of the song. It was posted on YouTube and acclaim began pouring in from a dizzying number of media outlets.
Pitchfork profiled her in this feature and said, “‘Alaska’ is one of those songs where the beat is so palpable, the rhythm so ingrained in every fiber of the music…the flow is maintained through a stunning waterfall of Rogers’ folksy falsetto harmonizing with itself.” SPIN noted, “[Alaska] blends folk, electronic, and pop music sensibilities to form an entirely new hybridized sound.” Paste called it “hauntingly beautiful” and Earmilk hailed the track as one of the most spiritual and wholeheartedly unique experiences you will have heard all year.” Speaking to Marie Claire, former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton named “Alaska” as her “Most Listened To Song.”  “Like her heroes – Carrie Brownstein, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon, Björk – Rogers is writing (and producing and performing) her own story,” observed Vogue while Pigeons & Planes declared, “Maggie is one of the most promising new artists to emerge in 2016.”

Rogers grew up playing banjo on a working farm in rural Maryland. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Describing her journey thus far – which included a move to France – Rogers says, “Inevitably, I found my space in the place between knowing who I was and finding out who I am. I feel a lot, maybe too much, but in a song it always seems to be just enough.”
