The Shamrock will open at 11 a.m. June 12 and 13 for all 2014 World Cup games

June 4, 2014   Sarasota, Fla.

A favorite of craft beer enthusiasts and hip downtowners, The Shamrock (2257 Ringling Blvd.) announces special hours for live showings of 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The Shamrock will open at 11 a.m. on Thurs., June 12 and Fri., June 13 and air every game with full sound.

“We’re an official US Soccer Bar and have shown the World Cup for several years now so fans of the sport now know this is the place to come and watch the World Cup,” said Derek Anderson, owner of the Shamrock. “It will definitely get noisy in here so feel free to bring your Vuvuzela and have a great time with all your friends!”

Food will be available to purchase from neighbor restaurant Lovin’ Spoonful and Happy Hour beer specials will run during all the games during the day. 

The Shamrock also created 64 “hooligan kits,” two for each team, which include a custom T-shirt, vuvezula horn and an official US Soccer Bar pint glass for just $10. During the final US Men’s National Soccer game on Sat., June 7, the Shamrock will randomly draw teams from a hat and assign them to those who’ve purchased hooligan kits, with a cash prizes at the conclusion of the World Cup for the kit-holders whose teams are in first, second and third place.
