NEW YORK, NY, July 28, 2015 — LAST NIGHT AT THE CARMINE, a new play written and directed byCaroline Kelly Franklin, will make its world premiere in the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival.

In LAST NIGHT AT THE CARMINE, seven life-altering moments occur on the rooftop of The Carmine, a treasured NYC building set to be condemned the following day.  At once heartbreaking and comedic,LAST NIGHT AT THE CARMINE focuses on some of life’s most epic moments, where mere words do no justice and the wrecking ball of time marches on whether we are ready for it or not.

 

The cast of LAST NIGHT AT THE CARMINE will feature Greg Bell, Sam Charny, Dennis Dmitry, Caroline Kelly Franklin, Cory Hanes, Derek Long, Whitney St. Ours, Hannah Seusy, Samantha Shane, Stephen Simeon, Clint Tate and Rocky VegaKatharine Maness is the assistant director. Katy Swann is the production stage manager.

Playwright/Director Caroline Kelly Franklin also wrote and directed Low Life, which premiered at Troy University. Other directing credits include Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and Diary of Project 19. As an actress, she has performed in New York City as Anya in The Cherry Orchard. Other theater credits include Desdemona in Othello, Evelyn in The Shape of Things, Aphrodite and others in Metamorphosis , Ophelia  inHamlet, Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, Aaron Kreifels and others in The Laramie Project  and Lady Anne in Richard III. She starred in the 2015 feature film Four Magpies and the upcoming filmReset Button.

LAST NIGHT AT THE CARMINE will be presented at The Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios on Saturday, August 15 at 12pm; Tuesday, August 18 at 9:30pm; Friday, August 21 at 9:45pm; Tuesday, August 25 at 2:15pm; and Friday, August 28 at 5:45pm.

The Robert Moss Theater at 440 Studios is located at 440 Lafayette Street in New York City.
