BY GRAMMY AWARD WINNERS
CORINNE BAILEY RAE & ROBERT GLASPER

With sold-out shows worldwide in the US, UK and Japan and a critically acclaimed number one independent album, We Are KING, the ladies of KING are happy to announce that they have extended their tour through the summer with many more special festival dates due to the phenomenal public demand. We Are KING is out now via KING Creative and will be re-released on vinyl Tuesday, July 12th.
Special highlights include an upcoming performance on June 11th at New York’s renown SummerStage, the city’s largest free performing arts festival. Also, the legendary Stevie Wonder personally invited the ladies to be one of his special guests alongside Pharrell Williams and Corinne Bailey Rae at the British Summer Time. Very limited tickets are available for their not-to-be-missed performance at London’s Hyde Park on July 10th.
“It’s been incredible to perform the new album in front of new audiences around the world, and we’re thrilled to be heading out for more shows this summer,” says KING. “We’ve been so inspired by touring and meeting new friends and fans, and are enjoying every moment of making the stage a home for these songs.”

Additionally, KING is excited to be part of their friend, Grammy winner Corinne Bailey Rae’s highly anticipated third studio album, The Heart Speaks In Whispers, releasing May 13th via Capitol Records. KING’s twin sisters Paris and Amber Strother contributed with production, performance and co-writing credits on “Green Aphrodisiac“, “Been To The Moon“, “Tell Me”, “Horse Print Dress”, and “Taken by Dreams”. Complex Magazine recently premiered one of their song collaborations “Green Aphrodisiac” praising its “soulful sound that perfectly matches her [Corinne’s] lyricism.”
The in-demand KING songwriters are also thrilled to be featured on the Miles Davis inspired Everything’s Beautiful album produced by Grammy Award winning jazz recording artist Robert Glasper. Glasper’s new album features 11 reimagined interpretations of Miles Davis’ masterpieces with musical guests Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Bilal, Leidisi and John Scofield among many others. KING wrote, produced and arranged “Song For Selim” for Glasper’s new project due out May 27th via Sony Records.
Regarding KING and the creation of “Song for Selim,” Robert Glasper explains, “with some of them I wasn’t even in the studio-like with KING, this group of three amazing women. I first heard about them when they were opening for Prince and everybody was talking KING, KING, KING. I already knew Paris-she’s their producer and one of the group too. She hung out in the studio when I made Black Radio which was very off the cusp, what’s-happening-in-the-moment kind of stuff, and I think she brought that idea to “Song For Selim.” When she sent it, I heard how it went so well with the way the album was coming together. It totally worked.”

ABOUT KING:
Twins Paris and Amber Strother and musical sister Anita Bias are KING.
In 2011, KING independently released their first EP to much acclaim; title track “The Story”, “Supernatural”, and “Hey” make up the 3-piece introduction to their carefully crafted dream-soul sound. Hours after the release, their EP had traveled far to music lovers and tastemakers alike, making new fans of many.
KING’s eclectic sound is relatable yet not simply defined. Though they play with the boundaries of their many influences, throughout each song is the common thread of a certain soulful authenticity. The smooth vibe, intricate production, and harmonic style of their music evolved beautifully in their home studio, a product solely of the three women and a result of their Minneapolis and Los Angeles roots.
Paris produces KING’s songs, while Amber and Anita are the primary singers. The three work together on songwriting and arrangements to create their unique sound, garnering such accolades as Rolling Stone’s 10 New Artists You Need To Know, Pitchfork’s Best New Track, NPR’s Song of the Day and 10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop PlayingBillboard’s 10 Best R&B Songs of 2014The Guardian’s New Band of the Day and Best Albums of 2013Metro UK‘s Singles of the WeekGlamour Magazine’s 2013 Free Holiday Music Campaign and the 55th GRAMMY Award for ‘Move Love’, their collaboration with Robert Glasper on his Best R&B Album ‘Black Radio’.
KING’s debut album We Are KING blends an array of genres, eras, and influences, and serves as the introduction to the trio’s lush soundscape.  We Are KING was released February 5th, 2016 via KING Creative and bowed at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart and in the top 10 on Independent Albums and R&B Albums chart. It has received rave reviews from NPR, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Billboard, Boston Globe, Chicago Sun Times, Village Voice, Brooklyn Vegan, Ebony, VIBE, The London Sunday Times, Life +Times, the Guardian, Essence and many more.
