U.S. SUMMER TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

SUPPORTING AWOLNATION!
Los Angeles, CA – May 18, 2015 – K.Flay is now premiering a video for the new single “Can’t Sleep” from her debut album Life As A Dog. In addition, she has also announced 30+ new tour dates and will be joining AWOLNATION on the road this summer, as well as Third Eye Blind and Dashboard Confessional for a handful of dates throughout the East coast and Midwest. A confirmed itinerary is listed below with additional dates to be announced.

A daring, lucid adventure through one of the most eclectic and electric cities in the world, the video for “Can’t Sleep” was “shot over the course of 24 hours in Bangkok capturing all the feelings of restlessness and excitement and loneliness that the song conveys,” said K.Flay, the indie hip-hop ingénue born Kristine Flaherty. “To have Jason Paul (world-class free runner), who is a super badass, play the lead was amazing. His movement is the driving force behind it all.”

In support of her Life As A Dog album and the new single, impacting at radio now, K.Flay will be on tour all summer long with additional dates to be announced. “I’m really excited to be on the road this summer supporting the AWOLNATION tour, doing some shows with Third Eye Blind and Dashboard Confessional, as well as playing a bunch of headline shows. I’ve been working hard to make the live show as dynamic as it can be, and I’m anxious (in a good way) for people to see it.”

After initially releasing two mix tapes and three EPs, K.Flay was trapped on the roster of a major label that wouldn’t commit to an album. So at the end of 2013 she finally unhooked herself from the label and holed up in a rehearsal space in downtown Los Angeles, isolating herself to see what sort of songs emerged. While splitting her time between Los Angeles, San Francisco and Brooklyn she wrote and recorded the songs for what would become the most cohesive, truest representation of herself – her debut album, Life As A Dog.

The songs from Life As A Dog were inspired by experiences during, and surrounding, K.Flay’s extensive touring, both with artists like Passion Pit, Icona Pop, 3Oh!3 and Theophilus London, and at festivals like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Governor’s Ball. The album features a handful of these friends that became the collaborators for the album, including Billboard (Robyn, B.o.B., Britney Spears), Justyn Pilbrow (The Neighbourhood) and Sam Spiegel (Maroon 5, N.A.S.A).

Life As A Dog would go on to debut at #2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. With a strong debut album in hand, K.Flay embarked on the 20th Anniversary of Vans Warped Tour, followed by a headline run selling out venues in SF, LA, Chicago, Boston, New York and Austin.
