JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF TAMPA BAY RECEIVES $5,000
GRANT FROM STATE FARM
The grant will enable 660 Tampa Bay 4th grade students to participate in the program, “JA More Than Money” free of charge.
TAMPA, Fla. – Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay announced that it has received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from State Farm Insurance to support the implementation of the “JA More Than Money” program for Hillsborough County fourth grade students.
JA More Than Money (MTM) is a one day program for 4th graders that teaches students about earning , spending, sharing and saving money as well as offering ideas to students about how they can start their own business or find jobs that they can perform to earn money. The project is a partnership of State Farm, Junior Achievement Tampa Bay, and Hillsborough County Public Schools. JA staff recruit and train volunteers from the business community to present the interactive Junior Achievement curriculum “More Than Money”. Following participation in the program, students are able to build on their understanding of money basics and apply those skills to daily life, as well as recognize the significance of money management in making informed life decisions.
The check presentation will take place today at Muma JA BizTown, located at 13717 N. 22nd. Street, Tampa, FL.
