INMAN NAMED TO DSO MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
DETROIT, (Feb. 12, 2014) – The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicki Inman as Senior Director of Patron Development & Engagement – a critical role in the DSO’s industry-leading, patron-minded approach aimed at anticipating the changing needs of patrons at every stage of their relationship with the organization; from ticket buyer to annual contributor, subscriber to legacy donor.
Inman takes the helm of a team whose goal is a $10 million, sustainable revenue base, coordinating and integrating earned and contributed income streams, broadening the audiences the DSO serves, and deepening its connection to all patrons reached across the orchestra, education, presentation, rental, and retail lines of business.
“We are excited that another talented arts leader is coming to Detroit,” said Paul Hogle, the DSO’s Executive Vice President. “Nicki is an experienced, energetic, and creative executive with the requisite skills to continue to grow the DSO’s broadest base of subscribers, single ticket customers, and charitable donors.”
ABOUT NICKI INMAN
Since 2010, Inman served the Memphis Symphony Orchestra as Vice President of Patron Engagement where she lead a staff of six to establish the patron model strategy, focused on building subscriber and donor bases. During her tenure, Memphis achieved annual growth of 5-18 percent in individual donations (doubling the donor base in two years) and increased the subscriber base by 22 percent over three years. By making the patron experience a priority across the organization, emphasizing superior customer service at the box office, in the hall and at all catered events, Memphis earned greater subscriber retention rates.
From 2004-2010, Inman served the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra initially as its Director of Development and ultimately as Vice President of Patron Development. There, she planned and directed a $2 million annual campaign which increased overall individual giving by 31 percent over five years. She also implemented a new annual gala volunteer structure that evolved into a unique community event whose revenue increased 100 percent over 10 years.
Inman has also served the Roanoke (Virginia) Symphony Orchestra.
A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Music, Inman was selected for Leadership Memphis’ Class of 2011, the Executive Leadership Program of the League of American Orchestras in 2008-2010, and Leadership Greater Syracuse, Class of 2006. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Sigma Alpha Iota Alumnae Chapters.
Inman and her husband will soon be relocating to the Detroit area.
