Hub Theatre Company of Boston will continue its third season this summer with Christopher Durang’s Laughing Wild at Club Café, Friday, July 17 through Saturday, August 1.

Nothing is sacred and no one is safe in Christopher Durang’s hilariously provocative look at the perils and problems of everyday life. When two socially inept New Yorkers collide over a can of tuna fish, the unexpected and explosive consequences force them to look at themselves, each other and what it is they really want. Laughing Wild is a laugh-out-loud, mile-a-minute, “that-is-so-true” look at modern life’s dilemmas and indignities, including battles in the supermarket, inane talk show hosts and rude taxi drivers. This zany exploration of urban humanity is a fun, frenetic theatrical experience that will keep you laughing and leave you thinking.

Join us for “drinks and Durang” as local favorite Margaret Ann Brady directs this sophisticated and complex comedy staring a duo of Boston’s funniest actors: Robert Orzalli and Lauren Elias.

Recipient of the Tony Award in 2013 for his play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Christopher Durang has also authored such innovative works as Sister Ignatius Explains It All (Obie award); The Marriage of Bette and Boo (Obie award), Baby with the Bathwaterand Beyond Therapy. Durang has also brilliantly performed for both stage and screen, appearing in Laughing Wild in Los Angeles and The Marriage of Bette and Boo in New York (for which he shared an acting ensemble Obie Award). Educated at Harvard College (B.A.) and Yale School of Drama (M.F.A.), Durang has been awarded countless fellowships and grants. Durang’s masterful use of off-beat humor and satirical commentary to examine the human condition and societal institutions has continually won over audiences and critics during his long and successful career as playwright, actor and teacher.

Hub Theater Company of Boston was founded in 2012 to foster creativity among Boston’s emerging theatre artists and as a means to help break down barriers between audience and art. As such, all tickets to all performances are Pay-What-You-Can.  Also, donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at each performance for local charities.
