FROM INDIAN LAKES SHARE NEW SINGLE “BLANK TAPES
FROM THE NEW ALBUM EVERYTHING FEELS BETTER NOW
OUT OCTOBER 14TH ON TRIPLE CROWN RECORDS
U.S. FALL HEADLINING TOUR
KICKS OFF ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 3RD
From Indian Lakes and Triple Crown Records are thrilled to share “Blank Tapes,” the second single off the band’s forthcoming record, Everything Feels Better Now, out October 14th. “Blank Tapes” is the follow-up to the album’s first single, “The Monster,” which NPR Music described as “seem[ing] like a hushed dream until Vannucchi blows the chorus wide open.” Stereogum showcased that song’s “killer” Joshua Haulling-directed music video, which you can watch via YouTube. From Indian Lakes are preparing to embark upon a national headline tour this fall in support of the record, with their first show kicking off this coming Monday, October 3rd in Salt Lake City. Vannucchi will be joined live by the same group of friends that have been playing on the road with him for the majority of the project’s lifespan. All upcoming tour dates are listed below.
“[Everything Feels Better Now] tracks in moody indie-rock songs that look to the terse internal monologues of Now, Now and the atmospheric pop of Mew.” -NPR Music

The brainchild of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joey Vannucchi, From Indian Lakes takes its name from Indian Lakes, CA, a small community outside of Yosemite National Park near where Vannucchi grew up on 40 acres of land with no electricity aside from a sparely used generator. Everything Feels Better Now is the fourth full-length release and the follow up to From Indian Lakes’ 2014 album Absent Sounds, which won praise from a wide swath of the critical landscape including SPIN, Nylon, Stereogum, Kerrang, and A.V. Club, who called it “a little slice of pop perfection,” among others.
Vannucchi recorded the skeletons of the tracks for Everything Feels Better Now in the basement of a coffee shop that he rented each month for cheap. From there he traveled to Fairfax Recordings in Los Angeles, aka Sound City Studios, where he worked with producer Kevin Augunas (Delta Spirit, Cold War Kids) and engineer Gavin Paddock on slowly stripping away whatever tracks needed to be replaced from the basement and home studio recordings on the songs.
Everything Feels Better Now was recorded using vintage analog equipment, with no editing on vocals and instrumentation. “Delays were made using tape machines,” says Vannucchi, who played all the instruments heard on the album, “and other effects were made using various vintage equipment leftover from sound city studios. We used vintage synth equipment and vintage drums and guitar amps. When writing and recording this album, I was really trying to capture a lo-fi aesthetic, while still retaining a sense of thoughtfulness.”
