MORRO AND JASP: 9 – 5
Created and Performed by Morro and Jasp
Directed and Dramaturged by Byron Laviolette
On Stage at Factory – May 12-31, 2015

All work and no play…until now! Factory and U.N.I.T. Productions present the world premiere of MORRO AND JASP: 9-5, at Factory, May 12 to 31, 2015.

In their past eight shows together, Morro and Jasp have experienced the pain of growing up (Puberty), explored their sexuality (Gone Wild), learned about the importance of family (Go Bake Yourself), and suffered existential angst (Of Mice and Morro and Jasp). Finally, they are ready to stop clowning around (not really) and set out to find jobs in Toronto. How hard could that be?

Fed up with the daily grind, Morro and Jasp decided to launch their own startup business. They are full of big dreams, bigger expectations, and even bigger market growth potential (whatever that means). Watch out Dragons!

MORRO AND JASP: 9-5 is a playful investigation into the workplace, and an entertaining exploration of the universal experience of employment. This show promises to be anything but business as usual!

Clown sisters Morro and Jasp are Canadian Comedy Award winners; three-time Dora Mavor Moore Award nominees; and winners of “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble” in 2012 for Morro and Jasp: Go Bake Yourself (the play that inspired the award-winning cookbook Eat Your Heart Out with Morro and Jasp). MORRO AND JASP: 9-5 was developed in three stages while Morro and Jasp were clowns-in-residence at Factory over the past two seasons.

Up Your Nose and In Your Toes Productions (U.N.I.T.) is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to breaking social norms and identifying the flaws that society works so hard to cover up. Through energetic and unapologetic work mixed with a covert and multi-disciplinary approach, U.N.I.T. seeks to help people rediscover joy, truth and creativity, not as a passing moment but as an important part of everyday life. Healing the world one smile at a time.

This is Factory. Theatre with Grit.
