May 31, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA – Emo Night LA: Taking Back Tuesday will be taking over the Echo and Echoplex once again on Tuesday, June 7th. Since expanding to both venues, the monthly emo rock music night has hosted performances from artists such as Olivver The Kid, Tennis System and Cologne, while continuing to draw notable attendees like Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, Jack Barakat of All Time Low, Chris Conley of Saves the Day, Kristen Stewart and Halsey. On the 7th, Taking Back Tuesday will add to this list, by hosting performances from Partybaby, Teenage Wrist, WASI and Two O’Clock Orange.
Heralded by Billboard, Rolling Stone, LA Times, LA Weekly, Time Out LA, Alternative Press, FUSE, HelloGiggles and more, Emo Night LA is an event started by three friends, Babs Szabo, T.J. Petracca and Morgan Freed as a way to bring together people who shared a love of emo rock music from the 90’s, 2000’s, and today. The event celebrates the music of bands like Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Saves The Day, New Found Glory, and Underoath, partnered with some old-school jams from Sunny Day Real Estate, Jets to Brazil, American Football, Jawbreaker, and Death Cab For Cutie.
What started as a nostalgic trip back to the era of MySpace and skinny jeans soon became much more than that. It started a movement. It reminded everyone that there was something special and timeless about that moment in rock music many labeled “emo.” Something that was lacking in today’s musical landscape – a community, and a safe place to be yourself, no matter who that is. Now Emo Night is looking towards the future – building their community and scene even further, by incorporating live bands and showcasing new music to their ravenous built-in crowd of die hard devoted attendees.
From branded merchandise worn by A-list celebrities like Kristen Stewart, to collaborations with large scale clothing brands such as OBEY Clothing and Stay Home Club, as well as an Emo Keyboard App, to throwing events around the country, what used to just be a monthly event in Los Angeles has expanded to something much bigger.
Simply put, Emo Night: Taking Back Tuesday is an experience you do not want to miss.
