Elizabeth Fisher Named Tampa Bay Business Woman of the Year in the Nonprofit/Social Services Category by the Tampa Bay Business Journal

SARASOTA, Fla. – August 22, 2014 — Elizabeth Fisher, CEO of Selah Freedom, was recently named the Tampa Bay Business Woman of the Year in the nonprofit/social services category by The Tampa Bay Business Journal.

These annual awards, now in its 10th year, recognize business women from the Tampa Bay region in nine different categories. The 50 finalists were chosen by an independent panel of judges and selected for their achievements, which positively influenced the business atmosphere of the Tampa Bay area.

“I am so honored to have won this award, especially in the company of so many other successful women in the Tampa Bay area,” stated Fisher. “I know this is a huge award and that this is just the beginning for Selah Freedom.”

Since 2011, Fisher has built Selah Freedom into a strong organization in order to raise awareness for the growing national issue of human sex trafficking and provide victims a safe place to stay and seek restorative care. The organization not only provides a refuge for victims, but also raises awareness with various events throughout the year. The organization also partners with and trains law enforcement, provides support to survivors in the jail system and on the streets, and provides prevention for at-risk teens through the My Life, My Choice program.
