“Not much explaining that I need to do for Mako. They are out of this world – their music makes me feel so uplifted and it’s so different than all the generic stuff I have been hearing lately. [‘Way Back Home’] is a true breath of fresh air.”
PROXIMITY, December 17, 2015
Electronic production duo MAKOLogan Light and Alex Seaver–are again finding themselves soaring up pop and dance radio airplay charts thanks to their intoxicating new single “Smoke Filled Room.” The track is gaining momentum, now on the Top 5 airplay charts for both SiriusXM’s BPM and iHeart Radio’s Evolution channels. SiriusXM pop station Venus has also officially added “Smoke Filled Room” to its playlist.
“Smoke Filled Room” has received nearly six million plays on SoundcloudSpotify and YouTube. It was co-produced by rising New York City producer Prince Fox and mixed by Grammy award-winning engineer Miles Walker (Rihanna, Kygo, Deorro) and once again showcases the duo’s unique ability to merge their emotive and inspiring songwriting talents with state of the art production. MAKO’s Alex Seaver assumes lead vocal duties. A new music video will be released early next year.
In the spirit of giving at this time of year, MAKO has re-worked a fan favorite track “Way Back Home,” which premiered yesterday on Proximity YouTube channel; check it out here. “Way Back Home,” first released in 2013, has been masterfully elevated into a sexy, hauntingly seductive and hypnotizing work available everywhere digitally today, December 18 (here).
“This release combines our love of electronic music with our backgrounds in film and classical music,” MAKO shares. “We thought to introduce this new sound using a song we wrote very early on together. This is ‘Way Back Home.'”
2015 was a milestone year for MAKO. Aside from several high-profile festival appearances–including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorroworld, Electric Forest, Electric Zoo: Transformed, Global Dance Festival, Sunset Music Festival, Something Wonderful, and Miami Music Week–the pair also embarked on their own headlining club tour and released back-to-back collaboration tracks that garnered serious looks with “I Won’t Let You Walk Away” featuring vocals from Island Records recording artist Madison Beer and “Children Of The Wild,” MAKO’s collaboration with Steve Angello. Look for MAKO‘s debut album in 2016.

About MAKO:

In an era where unexpected ingredients thrive, MAKO (Logan Light and Alex Seaver) offers a truly unique experience. Before an introduction was made, the two budding artists spent their early life progressing musically in radically different worlds. Alex attended The Juilliard School on full scholarship as musician and played with some of the world’s elite classical artists in the most storied of venues. Meanwhile, Logan was quietly mastering the art of DJing and within only a few years, began opening for some of dance music’s biggest international acts, including Tiesto and Avicii, and major appearances including Lollapalooza.  The duo’s first release “Beam” quickly circulated on blogs and YouTube, logging more than 5.7 million views to date. The track was featured on SiriusXM’s Beta Test Tuesday which then prompted them to proclaim MAKO is “the next big thing.” Since then, MAKO has found themselves in studio with some of dance music’s top artists: Avicii, Steve Angello, Sander Van Doorn, R3hab, DubVision, Heather Bright, Le Castle Vania and many others.
