Coming up on The Opera Platform
There has been a change in the scheduled programme. Die Entführung aus dem Serail will not be shown on The Opera Platform. Instead, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence’s Alcina by Handel, conducted by Andrea Marcon and directed by Katie Mitchell, will be streamed from Aix on Friday 10 July at 22.15 CET.
No one can resist the spells cast by Alcina, the magician. Especially when Handel’s masterpiece is sung by Patricia Petibon and Philippe Jaroussky. Welcome to the kingdom of illusions. Welcome to the sumptuous and strange universe conjured by director Katie Mitchell.
