Major international electronic musician deadmau5 has debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart (dated Dec. 24) with his sixth studio album W:/2016ALBUM/ (mau5trap). “The set is the mouse man’s third leader, following 2012’s album title goes here and 2014’s while(1<2),” writes Billboard’s Gordon Murray (12/15/16).  “Dating back to 4×4=12, which started at No. 2 six years ago (Dec. 25, 2010), deadmau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) has drawn six consecutive top-three debuts.  deadmau5 also appears on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for the first time in two years, as two tracks [“Let Go” featuring Grabbitz, “4ware”] from W:/2016ALBUM/ pierce the list.”
Along with the chart position news, deadmau5 released today (Dec 16) on YouTube an exclusive performance/BTS video set to “Let Go (feat. Grabbitz),” the lead single from W:/2016ALBUM/.   The video-which captures deadmau5 and his crew preparing his new cube and mau5head going into performance–is part of YouTube’s partnership with deadmau5 in support of the launch of W:/2016ALBUM/. On 12/1, deadmau5 live streamed a “live from rehearsals” performance to give fans a sneak peek into music from the new album, and unveiled his updated, custom-built Cube 2.1.
