Today, prominent Los Angeles rapper and designer David Sabastian partners with HipHopDX to premiere a brand new music video for “Shit Just Got Real” the newest single from his forthcoming album I Am Anti due out later this year. Directed by Alexander Hadden and David Sabastian and executive produced by St. Gian and the Anti Society, the socially conscience project addresses rebellion brewing amid the current events of social injustice.

David explains, “#SHITJUSTGOTREAL is the news. I wanted to make a song reflective of today’s social climate. We live in a decaying society and people are growing tired and angry. This song represents that rage. There are a lot of bullet points captured in this song that mirror how fucked up this world is becoming. I really was getting kicked out of my house. I really got a note on my door to move out. This song is my life and was created to inform the world on the issues we have to get through. #SHITJUSTGOTREAL is a WAR song.”

“Shit Just Got Real” is Sabastian’s follow-up to his colorful first single “Duh,” where he paid tribute to 90’s hit makers Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Puff Daddy, Ma$e and Busta Rhymes. Declared as “fresh heat” by AllHipHop, “Duh” is Sabastian’s aesthetic interpretation of pop culture and the new wave’s utopia. HipHopDX raved that Sabastian “created a winner and the visuals are too dope to ignore.”
Making his own splash in 2012 with the Napoleon Complex mixtape, Sabastian gained attention from tastemaker sites like Complex, 2Dopeboyz, HipHopDX, ThisIs50, FistInTheAir and the LA Weekly called David “A Rapper and Fashionista On The Verge.” The mixtape’s first music video Pussy Marijuana independently achieved nearly 1 million views on YouTube. His second video “Plankin’,” received impressive rotation on MTV Jamz and critical acclaim on MTVU.
