“Girl Crush” is the next single from New Politics’ third full-length album Vikings, released this past August via DCD2 Records/Warner Bros. Records. People lauded the album for its combo of “Green Day’s punk grit plus Fall Out Boy’s pop hooks,” describing the songs as “electrolyte rock, perfect for when you need to fuel up with energy.” Vikings is the follow-up to the band’s A Bad Girl in Harlem, which spawned the commercial knockout, “Harlem,” landing on multiple trailers for the film Frozen as well as garnering placements for “America’s Got Talent,” Microsoft, and Taco Bell.
New Politics – comprising David Boyd [lead vocals, guitar] and Søren Hansen [bass, guitar, keys, programming] who came to Brooklyn via Denmark, and NY native Louis Vecchio [drums] – just wrapped a huge fall co-headline tour with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness that saw them play countless sold out shows across the U.S., and will be playing a handful of radio shows throughout the end of the year.
