Grand Season Finale This Weekend
The Curtis Symphony Orchestra caps its season this Sunday with Stravinsky, Penderecki, and Tchaikovsky at Verizon Hall. Curtis faculty member Ignat Solzhenitsyn conducts, with soloists Benjamin Schmid, violin and Roberto Díaz, viola. Conducting fellow Kensho Watanabe is also featured. A New Spring Tradition
Last year’s Spring Chamber Music Festival at St. Mark’s Church was a rousing success, with casual hour-long concerts at lunchtime in this beautiful venue. So we’re making it a tradition. These free recitals begin at 12:45 p.m. and the first one is on April 21. Be there!
New On Curtis Performs

The high drama and vocal fireworks should get you in the perfect mood for the next opera production, La Cenerentola—Rossini’s sparkling version of the Cinderella story—at the Prince Theatre May 1–4.
Creating Cold Mountain
The young singers of the Curtis Opera Theatre have played a starring role in the development of Cold Mountain, a new opera by faculty member Jennifer Higdon that will premiere at the Santa Fe Opera and Opera Philadelphia in 2015.
