The Clay Place in Naples is hosting “5 Painters & A Potter” on Sunday, March 16. This will be the 12th edition of the group show that has become an annual spring tradition.

“Come and experience a special out-door show that encompasses the way we used to do them when Naples was laid back and easy going, in our early years here,” says plein air artist Phil Fisher, whose gallery is located in Crayton Cove. “Meet and purchase works by some of Naples’ most enduring and collectable artists, painting and residing here from 30 to 43 years.”

During this annual event, the public will have the opportunity to meet Paul Arsenault, Jeff Fessenden, Phil Fisher, Natalie Guess, Tara O’Neill and Jim Rice while enjoying live music by bluegrass band Captain Joe and the Bottom Feeders.

“We were rebelling against the Fifth Avenue galleries, and the giant shows downtown,” Clay Place’s Jim Rice told Naples News writer Lance Shearer last year. “But this thing has really grown. We must have had 800 people here [in 2012].”

Last year, Goodland artist Tara O’Neill made her debut in the show. Her impressionist oils focus on scenes near her home in Goodland and the beach. She and the other painters all have deep roots in Naples. “Fisher, Paul Arsenault, Natalie Guess, and Jeff Fessenden have come to define fine art in Naples, with color-filled images of local scenes and landmarks, some of which have disappeared since being depicted by the artists’ brushes,” notes Shearer.

The oldest pottery venue in Naples, the Clay Place is located at 1555 Shadowlawn Drive in Naples. For more information, please telephone 239-775-1078 or visit www.NaplesClayPlace.com.
