Charlotte Lawrence is a force to be reckoned with. Her bold vocals already grabbed our attention when her cover of the Grease hit “You’re The One That I Want” landed on Spotify’s Viral 50 Global Chart in the US and in eight different countries earlier this year, and now the 16-year old singer/songwriter has unveiled her new single “Seventeen” via Milk.xyz. The track is an instant danceable summer smash – PRESS HERE to listen!
Despite coming from a family that admittedly has no musical talent, Charlotte was surrounded by music her entire life and developed her passion for the craft at a very young age. One of her major influences has been her mother, Christa Miller, who is an accomplished music supervisor (SCRUBS, Cougar Town), and while not being a musician herself, is responsible for introducing Charlotte to a broad range of styles, genres and artists. She’s also had other mentors who have been essential to developing her style, which ranges from poignant singer/songwriter to ‘Taylor Swift style’ pop. The Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines gave Charlotte the opportunity of a lifetime last year when she brought her on stage for a duet at The Hollywood Bowl in front of 18,000 people, an experience that still leaves Charlotte in awe.
Charlotte is an extremely driven young woman. While finishing up high school in LA (excellent student and standout on the Varsity basketball team), she is always collaborating with other writers and producers to further develop her sound. She is represented by IMG and has worked for Chanel, and appeared in Vogue, Marie Claire and Teen Vogue. “Seventeen” is just the beginning of Charlotte’s blossoming music career, and this year we’ll get to hear more songs that show the many different dimensions and emotions her voice is capable of.
