(Boston) Celebrity Series of Boston today announced the addition to its 2016-2017 season of a performance by banjoist Noam Pikelny and special guest, singer/songwriter Anaïs Mitchell on Saturday, February 11 at 8pm in Sanders Theatre, Cambridge. Tickets for Noam Pikelny and special guest Anaïs Mitchell are available now as part of a subscription order. Individual tickets go on sale September 12. Tickets and information are available at celebrityseries.org/pikelny.

Noam Pikelny, hailed by the Chicago Tribune as the “pros’ top banjo picker,” has emerged as the preeminent banjoist of his generation. Pikelny is a founding member of Punch Brothers, a string ensemble which The Boston Globe calls “a virtuosic revelation” and The New Yorker describes as “wide-ranging and restlessly imaginative.”

Singer and songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, was called by The Independent (UK), “The most engaging, and in some ways, most original artist currently working in the field of new American ‘folk’ music.” Mitchell appeared on the Series in 2016’s Use Your Voice with Patty Griffin and Sara Watkins.
