Rock the Fifth Pub Crawl in Canton

CANTON, OHIO (February 18, 2015) – “Music is the wine which inspires one to new generative processes,” said Ludwig van Beethoven.  In celebrating the inspiring work of Beethoven, the Canton Symphony Orchestra kicks off its two month long Beethoven Festival with a “Rock the  5th” pub crawl on March 5 beginning at 5:30pm.

The crawl is themed around Beethoven’s very famous 5th symphony. Five locations in downtown Canton will be hosts for the evening – Bender’s Tavern, Picciano’s Martini Lounge, Conestoga Grill, Tapas 218, and George’s Lounge.  “Crawlers” will have the opportunity to purchase specialty appetizers and drinks for $5 at each location and will also receive a ticket for one complimentary beverage at the location of their choice.  Musicians from the Canton Symphony Orchestra will provide entertainment at the various spots throughout the evening.  Special appearances by “Beethoven” himself will signal giveaways and added fun!  “Crawlers” can visit as many of the locations as they like and travel around at their own pace.  Those who visit all five locations will be entered in a drawing to win a Beethoven Festival package valued at $320.

Tickets for the pub crawl are $5 each.   Once registered, “crawlers” will receive information that unlocks the location of the “first stop” where they will pick up their pub crawl packet containing their drink voucher, schedule of entertainment and other information about the event.  Tickets are available at www.cantonsymphony.org, by calling (330) 452-2094, at the Zimmermann Symphony Center – 2331 17th Street NW in Canton – weekdays from 10am-2pm or at the Umstattd Performing Arts Hall box office beginning one hour before the performance.

Founded in 1937, the Canton Symphony Orchestra is a fully professional ensemble and organization dedicated to performing concerts that enrich, educate and entertain. Under the direction of Gerhardt Zimmermann, the orchestra performs classical, pops, holiday, and educational programs.
