Miami – July 15, 2014 – Boxeo Telemundo begins the second season of 2014 at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Florida, where Jonathan “Pitbull” Vidal of Puerto Rico and Mexico’s Juan “Loquito”
Kantún will dispute the World Boxing Organization’s Latin Super Flyweight title. René Giraldo and Jessi Losada will provide their insightful commentary during the match and in three other fights to come in July and August.

Boxing fans can follow every second of the action in detail on the Deportes Telemundo Twitter account, @TelemundoSports.

Vidal (17-2, 9 KO) has fought only once this year, on March 21, when he faced off against Mexico’s Antonio Tostado for the WBO’s Latin Bantamweight title in Tampa, Florida. His only fight in 2013 was on July 20 against Alberto “Metro” Guevara, also of Mexico, for the World Boxing Council’s international silver title in Playa del Carmen on the Mexican Riviera. He has won 17 fights after making his debut in 2007.

Kantún (21-6-3, 15 KO) lost his last bout on February 15 of this year, against former world Mini Flyweight champ, Román “Chocolatito” González of Nicaragua, who remains undefeated after 39 fights. The Yucatan native made his professional debut in 2005, winning his first 12 fights until coming up against Wilbert Uicab in 2008. An interesting aspect of Kantún’s record: 12 of his 15 wins by KO were in three rounds or less.

“Boxeo Telemundo” continues to make history by becoming the first show of its type to mark 25 consecutive years on US Spanish-language television. In second season 2014 it presents three extraordinary headliners with fighters committed to giving their all in the ring:

Mexico’s David “Severo” Carmona will contest Ricardo “El
Meserito” Rodríguez for the WBO’s World Youth Super Flyweight title in 10 rounds on Friday, July 25 at 11:35PM/10:35C at Mexico City’s Auditorio Plaza Condesa.

On Friday, August 1, Bowling Green, Florida native Daniel “El Alacrán” Lozano and Antonio Tostado García of Jalisco, Mexico will vie for the WBO’s Interim Latin Super Flyweight title in 10 rounds at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, Florida at 11:35PM/10:35C.

Finally, Mexico’s Édgar “Nene” Ortega will try to outlast his Puerto Rican rival, Daniel Rosario in 10 rounds at Salón José Cuervo in Mexico City to become the WBO Latin Welterweight champ on Friday, August 8, also at 11:35PM/10:35C.
