Blackbird Presents is proud to announce the addition of Bob Margolin, Dave Malone, Ivan Neville, and Mark Mullins to the first leg of “The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz kicking off on January 21, 2017 at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida with tour dates running through February 2017 across multiple US cities.
Bob Margolin was Muddy Waters’ longtime music director, partner and guitarist. He accompanied Muddy Waters during the original Last Waltz performance in 1976.
Dave Malone was lead singer and guitarist for the legendary New Orleans band, The Radiators.  Ivan Neville is a member of the first family of music royalty of New Orleans and leader of funk and jamband group, Dumpstaphunk. Mark Mullins and Levee Horns are known for their razor sharp New Orleans horn sound, and have shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Arcade Fire, and many more.
Trombonist Mark Mullins has become one of the most in-demand horn arrangers of New Orleans today.
All four artists took part in Blackbird Presents’ “A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” in New Orleans last April.
In addition to the newly announced performers, the first leg of the national tour will feature previously announced artists which include Warren Haynes, Michael McDonald, Jamey Johnson, John Medeski, Don Was and Terence Higgins.

Now the “The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz” will showcase these artists across multiple US cities celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Last Waltz. “I’ll never forget the experience of playing these songs with this group of musicians in New Orleans earlier this year. We are celebrating something truly special and I’m honored to be a part of it,” said Michael McDonald “The Last Waltz is a true piece of rock n’ roll history. Creator and executive producer Keith Wortman and Blackbird Presents have once again gathered a truly prodigious cast of musicians led by musical director GRAMMY® Award-winning guitar legend and vocalist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer/musician Don Was, with GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter Michael McDonald, ACM Award-winning singer/songwriter Jamey Johnson, keyboard master John Medeski, legendary funk drummer Terence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band), along with Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters and the original Last Waltz), Dave Malone (The Radiators), Ivan Neville (Neville Brothers and Dumpstaphunk) and Mark Mullins (Bonerama) leading an all-star horn section featuring the original horn arrangements of Allen Toussaint.
