SEVENTH STUDIO ALBUM ‘JUNTO’
TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 26 ON ATLANTIC JAXX/PIAS
Nearly four years since their last official album release, BASEMENT JAXX are pleased to announce full details of their new album JUNTO,due for release on August 26 via Atlantic Jaxx/PIAS.
Earlier this May, the legendary producer duo of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe debuted the club-ready, jacking “Unicorn,” the first track to be taken from JUNTO. It has met with universal praise, working as a perfect taster of what the full length has to offer. Both “Unicorn” and album track “Mermaid Of Salinas” will be available as an instant download with every pre-order of the digital album from June 10th onwards.

JUNTO marks the duo’s seventh studio album and the title, which translates from Spanish as together, sums up the spirit of the record and the very essence of the JAXX’s desire to unify people with their music. “With this album,” says Felix Buxton, “we wanted to do something that felt more at one with the world.”This approach is reflected in the titles of “Power To The People,” “We Are Not Alone” and “Love Is At Your Side,” as well as the uplifting “Never Say Never” and the throwback fun of “What’s The News” and “Sneakin’ Toronto.”
The last few years have seen the pair take time out to write not one but two film scores (Attack The Block and The Hooping Life) as well as producing an orchestral album in collaboration with the Metropole Orkest. In 2013 they teased new music in the form of two tropical cuts–“Back 2 The Wild” and “What A Difference Your Love Makes”–and played a number of their legendary carnival-esque live shows.
Following their electrifying performance at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the JAXX are scheduled to play a string of live shows across the summer including headline slots at Wireless and Bestival as well as a monthly DJ residency in Ibiza. Look for North American DJ dates to be announced soon.
