(Los Angeles, CA – May 23, 2016) – APA has signed electronic producer Sharam, one half of the Grammy Award-winning and legendary chart-topping dance duo Deep Dish, it was announced today by Alex Chaykin, vice president and head of APA’s electronic music department who will handle all bookings.  Sharam has just finalized a 20+ date North America album tour.
“Sharam has always been a driving force in the dance music scene, staying true to himself as the genre has evolved over the years,” says Chaykin. “I was excited to work with him right around the release of a second LP, with a lot more on the way. We hit the ground running right off the bat and were able to get something really solid in place that we can build upon into the backend of 2016 and throughout next year.”
Recently, Sharam announced he will release his first new solo album in seven years titled A Warehouse on June 10 via his Yoshitioshi Recordings label.  The follow up to his 2009 debut continues to tell his story through the prism of a warehouse where he first discovered his love for dance music in Washington DC’s underground club scene. Comprised of a collection of tracks he’s held in the vaults waiting to release as a cohesive concept, A Warehouse revisits his roots across 13 tracks that traverse from early 80’s Giorgio Moroder-inspired disco to futuristic, dark and hypnotic clubby affairs with menacing drum and bass inspired sounds, illustrating house music’s metamorphosis into different sub-genres and the house offshoots Sharam indelibly shaped.
Since its conception in 1994 by Grammy-Award winning duo Deep Dish, Yoshitioshi Recordings has built itself into a household name by releasing a range of essential dance records from deep house to techno, and everything else in between. Throughout the years the label has released multiple chart-topping hits, as well as genre-defining mixes, making its mark as a forward-thinking, tastemaker imprint.
Deep Dish developed a reputation in the early 90s by performing at venues across the U.S. where they developed a fervent following.  Several high charting remixes brought the duo to prominence, working with such acclaimed artists as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Everything But The Girl, NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, Dido, P Diddy and Coldplay, among others. Over the years, the duo has been nominated for four Grammy’s, including a win in 2002 for Best Remixed Recording for Dido’s “Thank You.”
