May 2nd, 2016 – Dayton, OH – Alternative rock band The Orphan The Poet premiere their new single, “Terrible Things,”today on Substream Magazine. Fans can listen to the track exclusively, here: http://bit.ly/1QNXOCh.

“Terrible Things”is the first single and title track from the band’s highly anticipated forthcoming EP. Engineered by Nick Ingram and mixed/produced by Machine (Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, Every Time I Die), Terrible Things is ready to drop on Friday, June 3rd. Fans can pre-order the EP on the band’s website now, here: www.theorphanthepoet.com.
When asked about “Terrible Things”, vocalist/guitarist David Eselgroth replied: When I sent my first demo of ‘Terrible Things’ to the other guys, I honestly expected to be laughed at.  I just figured they’d tell me to stop listening to so much Weezer or something, and I was fully prepared to toss the track into the ‘maybe someday’ pile. Luckily, my band mates had keener foresight than I did; specifically, Jake replied, ‘That’s it. That’s the one’.  I’m really proud of this song because it’s such a reach for us stylistically, but at the same time, it feels connected to where we came from.

To celebrate the Terrible Things EP, The Orphan The Poet will be playing a release show at Park Street Saloon in Columbus, OH on Friday, June 17th. In addition, the band will play a string of shows this June, as support for CONIDTIONS, making stops at Voltage Lounge in Philadelphia, PA on June 9th, Santos Party House in New York, NY on June 10th and Canal Club in Richmond, VA on June 11th.
