This exhibit features abstract works by 18 artists, including Judy Pfaff, David Shapiro, Mark Anderson, Macyn Bolt and Ramos Rivera. Visitors will also have the rare opportunity to view an exceptional triptych from abstract expressionist Syd Solomon.

 

(Sarasota, FL) Allyn Gallup Contemporary Art gallery presents “The Lightness of Being: Abstracts: Part II,” July 15-August 28. This exhibit, curated by Mark Ormond, features abstract paintings and sculpture by 18 artists, including Luisa Basnuevo, Macyn Bolt, Tom Grabosky, Joal, Michael Kessler, Juri Morioka, Judy Pfaff, Carla Poindexter, Robert Poindexter, Ramos Rivera, David Shapiro, Syd Solomon, Bill Buchman, Mark Anderson, Jay Kelly, Mary Ann Prack, Don Porcaro and Caroline Ramersdorfer. “The exhibit, the second of a two-part show, displays the many faces of abstraction represented by our artists. Viewers will have an opportunity to experience freedom from form in numerous ways,” says gallery director Sheila Moore. “Visitors will also have the rare opportunity to view ‘Reefscape,’ an exceptional triptych by abstract expressionist Syd Solomon,” she adds.
